Frankfurt am Main, 12 March 2013. – Next year, the METAV in Düsseldorf will be opening its doors for the 18th time. From 11 to 15 March 2014, exhibitors from all over the world will again be showcasing their products and solutions for modern-day industrial users at the international trade fair for production technology and automation. During the next few days, the METAV’s organiser, the VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association) will be sending out the registration documents.
“The METAV has for more than 30 years now been acknowledged as a premier event for the metalworking sector at its venue in Düsseldorf”, says Dr. Wilfried Schäfer, Executive Director at the METAV’s organiser VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association) in Frankfurt am Main. “It’s particularly attractive for specialists on production technology from Germany and way beyond the country’s borders who are keen to talk to experts about efficient production”, adds Schäfer. The METAV’s target groups come from the industrial sector, particularly machine and plant manufacturers and the automotive industry, the craft segment and the service sector.
Trade visitors from all branches of industry appreciate the METAV for communicating new ideas and brokering contacts. Like Jürgen Jung, Production Director at Pfeiffer Vacuum in Asslar, who says: “Visiting the METAV enables us to broaden our horizon. We hold regular meetings with our machine tool and equipment vendors. And we’re just as interested in finding out what ideas their market pundits are coming up with.” Dieter Appelt, Head of Planning at Volkswagen AG’s Transmission Division in Kassel, adds: “The METAV offers us excellent opportunities to discuss our goals together with the vendors, and to familiarise ourselves with their own approaches, not least on the subject of energy-efficiency.”
The METAV is the first full-coverage international trade fair for the metalworking sector in the even-numbered years. This means that early in the calendar it offers first-hand information on the entire spectrum of production technology as a basis for deciding on investments during the current year. The METAV’s principal exhibit categories include machine tools and high-precision tools, production and process automation, metrological and quality assurance, components and accessories, plus services. At the last METAV in 2012, around 700 exhibitors from 26 different countries showcased their corporate capabilities on more than 36,000 m² of net exhibition space. They attracted almost 41,000 visitors from 70 nations.
